Det finns nya låtar som kan slå igenom, men då måste de ta upp något aktuellt eller ha något som gör att de slår på en gång. Det är inte många musiker, vare sig nya eller kända, som får flest visningar på Youtube på sin nyskrivna musik, utan det är nästan alltid de gamla kända klassikerna som gäller.
För att slå igenom bör du också skapa minst tre låtar, så att de som lyssnade på den första videon har något annat från dig som dyker som förslag på Youtube. Förslagsvis tar du en låt som du tycker om – om du inte själv gillar den, blir det svårare att kunna skapa något eget. Om du lägger ut filmerna under sommaren, bör du också göra en cover på en känd sommarhit, som ”Sommartider” om du tillexempel sjunger på svenska. Arbetar du under hösten bör du också skapa något eget av en julsång.
Vad är viktigt?
Vad är det som gör att en låt slår igenom? Många gånger är det kombinationen av melodi, text och framförande, dvs. hur det emotionella harmoniserar. Genom att göra covers behöver du bara tänka på framförandet. För att skapa en mer emotionell film bör du göra en musikvideo som förstärker den känsla som sångtexten redan ger. Om du har en julsång måste du skapa en julmusikfilm, gärna snö och mycket levande ljus och en kör. Det finurliga är att skapa något som tilltalar de allra flesta. Är det en sommarsång är det smart att kombinera en sjö, en röd stuga och Stockholm om du sjunger på svenska. Det viktiga är att det visuella förstärker den känsla som publiken redan har kring själva sången.
För att få många visningar måste du också ha bra ljudkvalitet. Du bör spela in låtarna i en riktig studio. Utan bra ljudkvalitet kommer du inte att få några visningar.
